Practice Policies

Therapy works best when expectations are clear and shared. The policies below outline how I schedule sessions, handle cancellations, manage documentation requests, and communicate outside of session.

Appointments & Scheduling

Sessions are typically 50 minutes for individual therapy and 60 minutes for couples therapy. Appointments are typically scheduled on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on your needs and availability.

Availability / Session Format

Therapy is provided via secure telehealth throughout California. Limited in-person appointments may be available with prior arrangement. A private, confidential space is required for virtual sessions.

$200 per 50-minute session

Couples Therapy
$250 per 60-minute session

Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged.

Insurance coverage accepted includes:

✦ Aetna

✦ Anthem Blue Cross of California

✦ Blue Shield of California

✦ Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts

✦ Carelon Behavioral Health

✦ Quest Behavioral Health

For those using out-of-network benefits, superbills can be provided for potential reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan; please verify your mental health benefits directly with your provider.

Documentation & Letters

Requests for documentation (such as treatment summaries, letters of support, or forms) require time outside of session and may involve chart review and clinical judgment. These are billed separately at a prorated rate of $200/hour or a flat fee equivalent to one session, depending on the complexity of the request.

Documentation is provided only when clinically appropriate and within the scope of treatment. Requests are discussed collaboratively to determine appropriateness and scope.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as no-shows will be charged the full session fee, except in cases of emergency.

What to Expect

Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we explore patterns, emotions, and beliefs that shape how you respond to challenges, and work toward expanding clarity, flexibility, and choice. Sessions move at a pace that feels safe and sustainable, with space for reflection as well as practical tools.

It’s important to know that therapy can feel uncomfortable at times. Exploring difficult emotions or long-standing patterns may bring up challenges before it brings clarity. The length of therapy varies and depends on your goals, history, and level of engagement.

Meaningful change takes commitment, curiosity, and openness. While progress is not always linear, many clients find that over time, insight and intentional action lead to greater alignment with their values, relationships, and overall wellbeing.

Communication

Email and voicemail are used for scheduling and administrative purposes only. Therapeutic concerns are best discussed during session. Messages are typically returned within 1–2 business days and not monitored continuously.

Emergency & Crisis Services

I do not provide on-call or emergency services.
If you are experiencing a crisis or immediate safety concern, please call 988 or 911, or go to your nearest emergency room.
